Community is important to all of us at PSSI. Our team members are active and proud members of the cities and towns in which we live and work. As National Night Out (NNO) starts in earnest across U.S. in August, we thought we would take this opportunity to draw attention to what we are doing to help build safe and equitable communities.
For those not familiar with NNO, it’s a community-building campaign first launched back in 1984 to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” The event aims to bolster the relationship between neighbors and local law enforcement, bringing them together in a positive environment. Over its 39-year history, 38 million neighbors and 17,000 communities have participated in NNO.
This year, neighbors across the country will gather on Tuesday, August 1st to host events such as block parties, cookouts, and parades, while emergency personnel and police hold seminars and conduct safety demonstrations, among other activities.
“PSSI is committed to building safer communities in the hundreds of U.S. towns in which we serve. We encourage our team members to contribute toward and attend various National Night Out events. These activities are tremendous opportunities to foster a positive environment and strengthen community bonds while building a friendly and fun atmosphere,” CEO Tim Mulhere said.
