Halloween is here and beyond the fun and festivities, it is a time when we unite to ensure the safety of our communities, especially the well-being of our children.
At the heart of our commitment to community safety and compliance is the “See Something, Say Something” program. The foundation of this program is community awareness around the safety of our children and keeping communication channels open, ensuring support is readily available to those who may detect any signs of concern.
Encouraging teachers, area police, community members, and PSSI team members to be the eyes and ears of our neighborhoods in which we live, and work is an essential year-round effort. If something doesn’t seem right or if there is a suspicion that a child may be in an unsafe situation, don’t hesitate to reach out to our discreet phone line. Reporting plays a vital role in safeguarding our communities and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
To raise awareness with some schools in our service areas, we have provided teachers with hand sanitizer with a printed message on the label to “SPEAK UP” if they see something that doesn’t feel right. By collaborating with local teachers, we aim to create a stronger network of support for our children and ensure compliance with safety standards. In doing so, we hope to raise awareness and encourage everyone to be a part of the solution.
As Halloween approaches, remember that it’s not just about dressing up and enjoying treats. It’s also about keeping our communities and children safe. Our See Something, Say Something program is a reminder that, together, we can make a difference.
Stay safe and have a happy Halloween!
