Diego Alvarez joined the PSSI team as its Chief Compliance Officer in September, bringing 15 years of domestic and global compliance experience to the role. CEO Tim Mulhere has praised Diego’s “proven track record” and expressed confidence that his leadership and expertise will guide PSSI’s compliance efforts as PSSI moves forward into 2024. As Diego settles into his new role, he recently paid a visit to headquarters where he sat down and shared more about his background, and future responsibilities in helping PSSI continue to exemplify and amplify a culture of compliance.

Here’s how Diego thinks about compliance and the company:

• “I’m joining PSSI after fifteen plus years of supporting organizations around ethics and compliance around the world.” Some of those places include the countries of China, Mexico and Japan, where his experience has centered around ethics, safety, labor, and employment.

• “I am very excited to be at PSSI and really, really proud of the work already being done by the company with the leadership, with the board and all the team members pushing in the direction of moving ethics, integrity, safety, and compliance to the next level.”

• “My role is to amplify those efforts and bring best practices, support the business growth, and clearly support our customers in the shared mission of providing safe food to our customers.”

• “What is compliance? Compliance at an organization is meant to help drive the strategy, enable the strategy, helping the growth of the company. Focusing on how we do those things, focusing on integrity, focusing on having very clear guidance and expectations, and supporting team members and customers around the country.”

Diego’s role is a critical part of PSSI’s 18-point remediation plan put in place earlier this year.
