Preventing Human Trafficking—A Team Effort

At PSSI, teamwork is critical to successfully providing our customers the high level of service they have come to expect. In the last year, we have worked tirelessly to boost our compliance policies and procedures, which we couldn’t do without all of our team members working together. On Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we wanted to highlight one of those efforts which we implemented last year: our new Anti-Human Trafficking policy and awareness campaign.

Human trafficking is a grave human rights violation of an estimated 27 million global victims. It preys on vulnerable men, women, and children. It is a crime of exploitation that can move from the shadows to infiltrate the workplace in the form of forced labor and unlawful child labor.

PSSI’s commitment to a safe work environment includes the prohibition of human trafficking. We do not tolerate such activity in any part of the company. Our team members, subcontractors, subcontractor team members, and agents are required to report any suspicion or actions related to human trafficking.

Our human anti-trafficking policy aims to educate team members on the indicators of human trafficking and the appropriate response to possible cases, leveraging the U.S. Government’s Blue Campaign.

The U.S. government’s approach embraces the “3P” paradigm of prosecution, protection, and prevention – which is the global framework used to combat human trafficking. A fourth “P” represents partnership which is a crucial component to achieve progress.

PSSI considers itself in partnership with the U.S. government’s goals and objectives of eradicating human trafficking, now and well into the future.
