PSSI Team Contributes to Community Impact at Mobile Food Pantry

The PSSI West Division team recently volunteered at the Utah Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry, working to support local students and families in need. This initiative is part of PSSI’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities in which we operate and partnering with organizations like the Utah Food Bank to fight hunger and advocate for children.

In Utah, 1 in 11 individuals face food insecurity, and 1 in 10 children are unsure where their next meal will come from. The Utah Food Bank’s Mobile Pantries play a crucial role in providing access to nutritious food, especially in areas designated as food deserts. Last year, the organization served 883,756 individuals through 922 Mobile Pantry deliveries across the state.

During this event, volunteers distributed a variety of food items, including canned goods, fresh fruits, bread, and cereals, to students at a local school. These nutritious offerings are essential in supporting the health and well-being of children in the community.

“Our team’s involvement in this program reflects the values we uphold at PSSI,” said Paul Moor, VP of Operations, West Division. “By stepping up to volunteer, they are making a real difference in the lives of local families. I am incredibly proud of their dedication and look forward to continuing these efforts in the future.”

Plans for additional mobile pantry events are already in place, with improvements being made to enhance the experience for everyone involved. This first experience provided valuable insights, leading to the decision to provide reusable grocery bags for better distribution of food items in the future.

PSSI’s involvement with the Utah Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry is a testament to the company’s dedication to community engagement. By actively participating in volunteer programs, PSSI team members are helping to address immediate needs while building stronger relationships within the community.
